Under exceptional circumstances, the St Barts Gourmet Festival took place this year on December 1 at the Bristol Hotel in Paris.
This fourth edition was due to take place November 2 to 5 on St Barts, but had been cancelled by the Tourism Office following hurricane Irma.
Bruno Magras, President of the Federation of Saint-Barthélemy, hosted the event along with Nils Dufau, President of St Barts Tourism, and Anne Dentel from Eden Rock Villa Rentals and President of the Hoteliers Association.
A champagne reception in the lobby of the Bristol was followed by a 7-course tasting menu in a private dining room of the hotel prepared by three Michelin-star chefs – for a total of nine stars: Emmanuel Renaut, 3 Michelin stars, Flocons de Sel Hotel in Megève, Christian Le Squer, 3 Michelin stars, Le Cinq restaurant at George V in Paris, and Eric Frechon, 3 Michelin stars, Epicure Restaurant at Le Bristol Paris.
Later in the evening, a raffle, with prizes valued at over $100,000, raised money to help with the re-construction of the island.
The Bristol Hotel on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré is managed by the Oetker Collection, who also count Eden Rock Hotel in St Barts as a client.
